fh has a full time job this year... and is unsure what to do... should he get his boss a gift? if so how much? and what(boss is a girl)

My hubby always buys gifts for his 2 bosses and the wives (only out of respect...hubby is like that but something small). He usually spends $50 each boss. Every year something different. He knows his bosses really well so he usually gets them stuff they want or know they would like.

ETS: Gift Certificates and Wine are good gifts.

I thought it was bad etiquette to get your boss a gift? like brown nosing?

either way...I think all things edible are great gifts!!

I have heard the same thing--Gift down the ladder not up
But with that being said many of my staff have bought me gifts--

hmmmm... so maybe ill have him get wine or chocolate....

he didnt know what to do, and also doesnt want to show up empty handed and her give him a gift...

he thought maybe wine, but then wondered if it would imply he thought she was a drinker
