So in High School I was friends with a group of 4 girls. We always hung out together and we were basically thick as thieves. Long story short I have stayed very close with 1 of them (one of my BMs), am still decent friends with another and I don't even talk to a third.
The trick is with the 4th girl. Her and I were BFF for all of middle school and most of high school...we don't really have much of a relationship now...sometimes I see her when I am hanging out with my BM. She's congratulated me on FB and she told my BM she was really excited for me.
I originally wasn't going to invite her to the wedding. We are trying to keep it on the smaller side and already the guest list is growing. Do you think I should invite her?? I'm really torn since we used to be BFF and I'd feel bad if she felt left out...but then again we don't really have any sort of relationship anymore.

I agree with Joanna...dont invite her unless you're close with her NOW. You may have been really close in the past...but times change and people grow apart. It's nothing bad- it just happens.

I agree. FH and I were having some issues with friends like this and we decided that we are keeping our friend invite list with the friends who we are friends with now....otherwise our list would get kinda out of control.

Re: Should I?
I agree with the girls, however i am in a similar situation. I went to school and was very close with this girl from 3-18 years old. In high school we didn't speak for a year but as we matured we became friends again. She sent me a card for my engagement and always asks for me. Even though I dont speak to her on the regular, I am still going to invite her to the wedding bc I would feel bad if I didn't.

I agree. There are a two guys that I grew up with who are the sons of two of my mother's best friends. I haven't really spoken to them much since high school, but I'm still going to invite them. Growing up, these two guys were like my older brothers, so I can't imagine them NOT being there. Besides, their parents are being invited too, and one of the guys offered to be my florist (he's a floral designer), so I can't NOT invite him

I think its nice that you invite them! I am inviting some friends from school that I really don't see much because of work and stuff but they are good friends! so umm I think its a nice gesture to invite

Hmmmm I say think about how you'll feel if you don't invite her. Do you think you'll be torn over it and wish that you did? Do you think that your friendship with this girl could blossom again in the future?
If the answer to either or both of those is yes, I say invite her.

ITA...FB re-connected me with some great childhood friends. I am extending an invite to some and B-listing others.

Re: Should I?
I would invite her. Both my MH and possibly one of my BM's are childhood friends I grew up with. We've always maintained a relationship though so it's not like we were out of touch for years. None of us really hang out really due to school, work, two of us being relationships. I would consider inviting SOME old HS friends though. I was invited to a wedding from a hs friend/more of aquaintance and I thought it was a nice gesture. You have a ton of time to decide though since you have a year...
