Should I be anxious? Mortgage related

Should I be anxious? Mortgage related

I sent in our mortgage application over a week ago and I spoke with the woman handling the mortgage on Friday. She said she had our commitment and the letter was going to be drawn up over the next few days. I called her today and did not hear back. I'm getting very worried because I don't know if something came up (even though they preapproved us) and I am wondering if I should start looking for another mortgage company.

Am I being silly?

I wouldnt worry about it.... Give it a few more days and try calling her back...

I have learned thru the home-buying process, do not 'wait a few days for them to call you back.' You are spending a LOT of money and deserve answers. Call until you get the information you need!

I don't mean call every hour - but not returning a phone call or email in the same day for a status update is not excusable to me. Can you tell I've had some experiences that made me bitter LOL

Thanks ladies- there was a message on my cell phone and it turns out that everything is still being processed. I am still a little edgy but I feel better.

I was so edgy about the mortgage process. I was a nervous wreck until we got the final word

Banks in general suck. They are slow, never return phone calls, underwriters take centuries to finalize commitment paperwork.

Just break their chops and things should move quicker.
