My mom left to Peru for a month and just came back. I am putting off looking for a dress becuase i want her to be there.. But she tell s me that she is going back for another week to go to a Christianing.. Part of me is like dont be upset because she deserves to enjoy her life and its only a week.. but then im like i waited a month.. I have to wait another week yeah well maybe im just getting up set for nothing and being selfish .. what do you guys think?

I think you have a right to your feelings but remember that its only another week and I would mention it to her that when she comes back you really want her to come dress shopping with you and set a specific date.

I would be upset too - but have you told your mom that you were waiting for her to share this special time with you? Make sure she knows - sometimes parents forget that we actually DO want them to part of our lives too.

I have and some where that week.. I mean she left her whole family to come to this country for me and my brother and now that we are grown up shes just doing what makes her happy. But why now it make feel like this wedding is not important. well its not just her everyone is so whatevea.. but its maybe because it a year away

Don't be upset with mom. I know you are going to be mad hearing this but you have time to do plenty of dress shopping. Let mom do what she has to do one more week hang on.

I know how you feel and it's okay to be upset - but I think that in this case as long as your mom knows how you feel one more week for her to be happy will be okay.
I feel the same way sometimes that my wedding is much less important than everything else. But you might be right - it might be b/c the wedding is so far away.

You are right and I agree with Tori too - but don;t get too upset about it - THIS is the time for us 'brides' to be selfish. And you know when yo control yourself

There is plenty of time to go dress shopping... i wouldn't be too upset... plus it's not like your mom is purposely avoiding this right!
