Should I be worried?

Should I be worried?

I ordered my dress and already put down a deposit. However, I can not find the dress on any website. It's Demetrios and I tried it on at Macy's and another bridal store. I'm now worried that it's discountinued because I can't find it anywhere. I've tried e-mailing Demetrios and they haven't responded. It's strapless and has embroidered roses on the bodice and the bottom of the dress. It's a detachable train. On my order form she listed the style # as 11278. I'm now worried she is selling me the sample since that fit. What should I do?

I read this in a bridal book- go back and try the sample on and sew a small red thread in the gown inside. IF they try to hand that gown off to you in a few weeks, they are busted!
But just to reassure you, the dress may be so new that its not listed on the internet yet. That's what the bridal shop told me when I researched my dress. I'm still waiting to see if they are right before I purchase it.

Call Macy's to confirm but...

A while back I was worried that they no longer had the dress I wanted. I went to the Macy's in Herald Square (on my lunch) to talk to someone and they pulled the dress for me - let me try it on - and assured me not to worry. Supposedly since they are exclusively Demetrios they can get the designer to cut a dress even if it has been discontinued. So they say - call and see what they tell you.

Thanks so much for your responses. I guess I shouldn't worry. I didn't want to call Macy's since I didn't end up ordering it there. I found it elsewhere cheaper! That's a very good idea about the red thread! I guess it makes sense that they don't have all their dresses on the internet.

It is funny that you posted this... I had the same problem! I went to a bridal center a week or two ago and found 'the dress'... well I wanted to get the picture of the demetrios dress online so I could compare it next to the picture I have for the BM gowns. So after getting really nervous that the gown and been discontinued I called Demetrios today! They said that they have SO many styles that they don't put them all on the website. The said not to worry and they are mailing me a photo of the dress. Their telephone number is on the their website... they were very nice to me!
Good Luck!

Don't worry I'm sure everything will be fine. by the way how does the dress look? can you decribe it? I am getting worried to b/c the dress i want i'm putting a deposit on this fri, but the woman at the bridal shop told me its always possible that the dress can be discontinued at anytime if it is not a brand new style. Well I'm pretty sure this is the dress i want. I would just tell everything you said to the owner of the bridal shop ASAP. But im sure everything w/ work out in the end.
