I called to double check the time for my ceremony for my invites, since I have heard so many horror stories about errors by churches. I called the church (not my home parish) and the woman put me on hold for about 5 minutes and then told me that the 'wedding person' is not in this week and to call back next week. Am I missing something here? Can't they just check the book? Should I call back and ask to speak to someone else?? I am feeling a little sick to my stomach just thinking they may have messed something up.

I dont know why they wouldnt just check in the book for you... some people hate doing extra work! dont let it stress you

Thanks and thank you for the suggestion! I have just had a bad feeling from day 1. since I am not so familiar with the parish. Our priest is a family friend and suggested we get married at a church closer to Flowerfield so more people would come to the ceremony. He is not a priest at the parish and the priest that interviewed us is no longer there. I really want to call back but I don't want to be a pest. I guess I may have to sweat it out until Monday
