Should I book hair/make-up w/o having a trial first?

I am considering booking someone for hair and make-up w/o having a trial first. I have seen plenty of pictures of her work and I am fairly cofident that I will be happy with her. Lots of LIWer's have used her or have booked with her and she always gets rave reviews.

I would prefer not to do the trial right now b/c I don't really have the money, not sure of the hair style I want, and would rather have the trial closer to the wedding.

so...should I book hair/make-up w/o having a trial first?

I say no do not book without a trial only because what looks great on others may not fit you. I wouldn't want to be locked into something that I didn't know how it looked on my first...JMO.

Id be careful, but I would also be worried they will book up.
Are you using who you used for your epics?

I would personally prefer doing a trial before booking.

nope...I waited too long and someone else booked her. I don't want to wait much longer b/c I don't want others to get booked too.

I booked makeup after a trial and hair without a trial

I wouldn't only b/c I had a trial with a very well known city make-up artist and hated it. If I went by just recommendations I would have booked her sight unseen - good thing I didn't

I would not book makeup without a trail. For hair, I saw photos of what the hair stylist had done in the past and that was good enough for me.

I think you can book before a trial, but make sure you actually have a trial before the wedding day.

I think anyone who is highly recommended by other LIWers can do a great job on you.

I did. I've seen pics of every kind of hairdo and makeup job my girls have done, and I have no doubt that they can put my hair up and do my makeup the way I want it. Plus, my hair will be longer, and I don' t have my headpiece and veil, and want to use them at my trial. The trial is expensive, and I only want to do it once . . . . I'm sure that I'm not going to be the one person that these girls can't make look fantastic!!!

I would have to say no. IMO i think some things look better on other people and I want to see how it looks on me before anything. It's almost like buying clothes

I would do a trial.....I didnt like my hair when I went and the makeup was great but, didnt last. So onto the next trial I go...

ideally you do a trial before you book, but if you are confident in her abilities and dont want her to book up and CANT do a trial now, i'd book.

i booked hair and makeup before doing trials (although i did trials later), but i had used each person multiple times in the past and was confident in their work. i also knew i wanted to use them so i didnt want them to book up. (and, i was limited with respect to when i could go for a trial since im usually OOT)

you do what you have to do!
