I wasn't going to bother doing STD's but MOH thinks I should. Our wedding is Columbus Day weekend and we have some guests from MD and NJ & the reception is out east. I kinda feel like close family members know the date so why bother? FH doesn't want them but of course said the typical man thing 'do what you want.' We're having a pretty small wedding, we're probably only inviting about 130 and the minimum at our hall is 75. So send or don't send?

I always think they are good idea- especially since it is a holiday weekend people sometimes go away. This way they will know in advance.

i would do it to be on the safe side. A lot of people plan weekend trips around that time.

I would. Like you I was leaning towards not sending them, but my friend that got married this summer had 100 people reply 'no' (they invited 260) and she was 15 shy of her minimum. She said she wished she had sent STD's.
It can't hurt to send them out, esp since you are getting married on a holiday weekend.

Because of the Holiday weekend I would say definately. I too have been trying to decide...
