There was a thread on here a couple of weeks ago about the $300 comforter - that's our comforter - who knows if we will get it! We just got a nice coupon from BBB in the mail and between that and some store credits and gift cards we got - the comforter would cost us $60 right now!!!! Should we just buy it - so we know we're getting it?

Yeah, why not? $300 is an expensive gift. You may or may not get it. If I was you I would buy it, if that is the comforter you really want.

I say no because althought you dont think you will get it, there is a good possibility. I know that some of my aunts tend to like to get a big gift and then split it, I have seen bridal parties do this, or maybe your Mom or FMIL would like to do this. And if you dont get it, you can always use any coupons / giftcards then. If you buy it, and soemone does want to buy you a big item they cant.
FYI: BBB accepts competitors coupons and my FSIL told me that they told her they will accept their own expired coupons. Look through your bridal magazines and you will usually find a 20% off coupon as well!

I have bought from my registery. I needed something off form it and couldn't wait. If you could save that much , go for it!

I would get it (and I did it too). If you like down comforters, why not replace the one you are buying with a down comforter.

Why not? If the store credits and coupons make it $60 I think it's worth it. Unless you want to wait until after your shower or wedding when you might have some more cash and buy it then. That was maybe someone will buy it anyway and you can use the store credits for something else.

Thanks ladies! I prob will get it! Too good of a deal right now to pass up! Yeah - we having matching sheets and pillows and hopefully people will buy us those. We're not even going to use it yet - but it would be nice to know I have it!

I say no... Someone may want to buy it for you for your shower (like your mom). You should save the gift cards to purchase the things you did not get from the registry. Plus I am sure there will be more coupons in the future.

I say get it now but not from your registry. If someone else gets it for you, you can return it for the $300 and get more stuff.
