Should I cancel my dentist appointment today?

I'm looking out the window and seeing giant snowflakes falling.....in blizzard-like conditions...and I'm wondering if it's really worth the treck to the dentist to have my teeth cleaned today...

Should I call and reschedule or tough it out?

Well, the hygienist is only in on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so that makes it difficult....
but I can go in any day after school, so I'm open!

So I just called up to suggest rescheduling, becuase I'm thinking the earlier I do, the nicer person I am....and she told me to wait and call her later!
I really don't feel like driving from Manhasset to New Hyde Park, back to Glen Cove in a snowstorm.
And the snow is sticking here...I just checked.
So I guess I'll call her in an hour and insist on rescheduling....

That isn't a far drive.

Man people see a little snow on the ground and they get all nervous.

Look at it this way... the dentist office will probably be empty. Get in and out.

I couldn't decide how to vote, so accidentally I hit 'Why do I care about Lori's teeth?' but I slipped!! I feel sooooooo guilty!! (but I cannot speak for those OTHER 3 mean people who voted that way )

I say that everyone knows what makes them comfortabe when it comes to driving in bad weather - the fact that you are asking means you are a little tentative about it, so then by all means reschedule !! I mean its not like you are going to get ICE CREAM or to hook up with Johnny Depp (which I'd drive 50 miles for ) ... its a yucky dentist appointment

If it was a little snow on the ground, I would be fine driving there...but now the grass is completely covered, the roads are getting there....and I saw someone coming in from outside and asked her how the roads are and she said they were bad.

So I rescheduled.

It's not like I'm a wimp in the snow.....I can handle myself...but the rides there and back require me going over a lot of hills, and the later it gets, the colder it gets, and the colder it gets the icyer (sp?) it gets...and I don't care how good a driver you are - the ice is your enemy!!!

And, no, there is no such thing as an orple - i made it up

no, my teeth are well situated safely inside my head (thank goodness)

I doubt there will be orples at the dentist - they're not very creative...you can tell by the electric blue leather couch in the waiting room that's been there since I was 4

I have to admit, I chose the orple answer - not that i don't care about your teeth, but I was intrigued....

Well, I must say that I made the right decision!
It took me over an hour to get home - when it normally should take about 20 minutes with traffic....so clearly, my instincts about the roads were correct.
Now I'm home and dinner is cooking and all is well with the world!
Safe driving to everyone else!!

(ps. orples are a combination of apples and oranges - completely fictitious)

Palebride, I left work at 3 and didn't get home until 5:30 (usually a 40 minute trip) so I concur. You did makw the right trip.

To be honest, the roads were so bad I would have prefered if my teeth fell out of my head and orples grew back in their place!
