Should I feel bad?

Should I feel bad?

I told my FFIL that i need a listing (address) of their side of the family who are attending our wedding. Fh does not keep in contact with his relatives so, I had to go through his father.

During the time of waiting for this list..... I suggested to my ffil that I would not mind if his new daughter in law parents come to our wedding. His oldest son is getting married in June. Which will be my future brother in law once I marry FI. Sorry for explaining this way, I want to make my point clear...

So, at what I thought was cool to invite this person, that person....I get into a little problem over this weekend...my car died and I need to purchase a new vehicle...meaning...okay..I will have to give 10K for a new car , which in turns means...I will have to cut my wedding list down..... Can't afford it anymore. I did not mention to my FSIL that I would like her parents to attend, I just told my ffil. I am now worried, that he spoke to her parents and told them that I would like for them to attend.

Ooo...if it helps any ...fh says to me, Why would you want her parents to come, she is not inviting yours?

Thanks ladies for listening!!!!

I'm in a similar sitaution, except we're getting married 9 months before FBIL. I have chose not to invite his fiances parents. I certainly don't think you have to, unless of course your FFIL kind of verbally invited them already.

That is what I am kind of afraid of!!! Although, I did not mention anything to FBIL OR FSIL... It is just I am really feeling the stress of having to dish out cash, in another direction other then my wedding. Sure, I would not have mind inviting my other guests who my mom is telling me that they can't come.

Just ask your FI to ask his dad if he said anything to them. If not, then explain then have him explain the situation and tell him that you'd really appreciate it if he didn't say anything. If he's already spoken to them, then I guess you have to invite them.
