Since my church does not allow rice or birdseed to be thrown I was thinking of releasing doves but sometimes I'm like 'Eh should I really do that' I'm not as excited about it. What I really wanted was the rice or birdseed. Is it a really big deal to have them? Does it mean bad luck in anyway if i dont have them because I can't have the rice or birdseed.

No. I am a firm beliver that live animals should not be used for our amusement or photo oppt. Use rose petals. THe photo will be beautiful and you will not risk using a live animal.
