Should I have negotiate the price?

I was going through some old post forum and read few brides actually negotiated their per plate price or had added on bonus. When I saw my venue ( JT) we fell in love and booked after one week. Since the price kinda worked within out budget, we didn't bother negotiating.. Plus FH thought if we try to, we might actually get poorer customer service if we ended up booking. Now I think of it, I feel like I could have save some bucks or have them throw in some things in.
Any advice from future or past Jericho brides????

Should I have negotiate the price? - Long Island Weddings

I usually negotiate everything however, I felt that what we were getting from JT was reasonable. They did 'throw in' a fresh mottzeralla station which I believe will just be added to the menu since it is so popular. I did try to negotiate the minimum which didn't work (they know they can easily book a party for the minimum they require. Also, I believe if you had a special request they would be more willing to accommodate you without charge but I could be wrong. I hope this helps!

I'm not a JT bride, but we kind of had a feeling if a venue was willing to negotiate or not just from meeting with them. Some venues kind of came out and said we can help you work out some things to fit in your budget better or if there were things we wanted but wasn't included in the packages we were looking at they were willing to negotiate. Then there were venues that were to the point and wouldn't budge on anything. My dad likes to get the best deal for his money lol, so sometimes it was embarrassing for me but everything worked out.....If you're happy with what you got then don't even second guess it

the only thing i negotiated on was the number of valets (i didn't think i needed the standard number). i felt that TVI was reasonable and I was happy with the offer. if you were happy with it, i wouldn't worry.

I negotiated the minimum number of people down to 100 instead of 120. I always was able to get the ceremony fee down because it was higher than the other places I looked at. When we booked the guy told us we did really good price wise

Sometimes venues that are willing to negotiate originally offer less on their menus or have a higher minimum than venues that don't negotiate. My RH didn't negotiate but I'm getting more food there than other places who would ' work with me'. Always check the bottom line of what you're getting at what price. Some places want to make you feel like you're getiing a deal.

I'm getting married at JT too!! They were definitely able to negotiate the price- but only slightly.. mostly they just added on goodies to our cocktail hour/reception/viennese hour.. which was fine with me because the price to begin with was well within our budget- not to mention beautiful! Plus they are SO WILLING to accommodate you with almost anything it seems! GOOD LUCK!!

I think it depends on if you're content with what they're offering for that price. It's always worth a shot - we got our venue down almost $15pp and they threw in a TON of extras.

This! I was happy right off the bat, but still managed to get $5 off. Also, I was more concerned with the # of people we had to guarantee, which was also negotiable at certain places and can save you money in the long run. My venue actually lowered their seating guarantee for a Saturday night for the time of year, which was huge.
