Ok, so I've been working at my job for 3 months. This girl in my office here in San Diego just got engaged. She is getting married in August. I go to lunch with her about 3 times a week, but I wouldn't say that we are great friends as we do not hang out outside of work. Well she told me that I am invited to her Jack and Jill shower and her engagement party. I'm assuming that also means that I'll be invited to her wedding. Anyway, my wedding is July 4th in NY and she lives in San Diego. Do I invite her and her fiance to the wedding to be polite?

Re: Should I invite my co-worker?
Assuming that inviting her doesn't force you to bump someone closer to you, then I think you should invite her.

I think you should invite her. It is courtious. It doesn't neccesserily mean that she will go. It is just polite. She sounds like a good friend (co-worker)

If she's inviting you I would definitely invite her. She probably won't come unless she wants an excuse to come to NY.

As a polite gesture I would invite her.
You two go to lunch and I am sure you discuss wedding stuff, so I think you have to .

Extend the invite, if you don't she may be offended.

I'd invite her, unless you're really $ strapped

It is really up to you and how you feel about it. I think you should invite her. If you are on a strict budget, I would put her on a B list and as soon as someone cancels, try to fit her in. You both sound like you have a good work friendship going and I would say it may be impolite to leave her off entirely.
I think absolutely invite her...I am friendly with a lot of people at work that I don't see too much of in the outside world!!
she probably won't come...but I think more people see this invite as you extending an invitation...not looking for a gift...she would be touched...
I actually invited 5 other coworkers at the last minute, b/c I found out that I was being invited to one of theirs and the 5 were part of a group...all or nothing...and none came...

Re: Should I invite my co-worker?
That all depends... are you going to her shower, engagemt party & wedding?
If you plan to go to her wedding, you should invite her to yours.
My Matron of Honor was really surprised about who came & who didn't come to her reception.
