Should I just give up?

and look for something else. that job that was so perfect for me. They said they would call me by the end of the week. I had called them on several occasions to keep my name in front of them , I havent heard anything and thi swas just so perfect for me. Everytime I find a job that is perfect for me, I never get it for some reason. I know if it was meant to be but its like within arms reach and I am just touching it with my finger tips. But, cannt get a grasp of it. It just sucks. I want that job so bad.

Re: Should I just give up?

Hey, don't lose all hope yet. I had the same experience before I got the job I have now. I interviewed and was excited b/c it sounded like it was really perfect and I thought I hit it off with the guy and he said he'd get back to me. He called to check something and sounded really like I had a good chance and I asked when he was making the decision. He told me he was hoping my mid that week and then nothing. I waited a few more days and emailed him. He told me he gave the job to someone else and I was so upset (I had no job at the time and needed one badly since we were in contract for a house and I'd been out for 3 months). But I went away for the weekend for a friends wedding and when I got back, got a call from the office to see if I was still interested and started that week. So, you never know what can happen! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!!!!
(Also, I know when they were in the decision making stage, it was really a good 2 weeks after they wanted to make the decision that they finally did. Things came up so they didn't get it done when they wanted.)

Don't give and don't lose hope. Just give it a few days and if you don't hear from them, it wasn't meant to be and something better will come along.

At this point I would just give it a day or two and if you don't hear anything, I agree with the others, that unfortunately this one wasn't meant to me.

Re: Should I just give up?

well, what happened is I took it upon myself to call this company. and it turned out they did need someone. I spoke to a man (gm) in one office, and he gave me th eHR dept to call and he was very optomistic about it. So I gave hr a call in their main headquarters and emailed my resume. which was fine they said they forwarded it on to the proper person okay. I waited and still heard nothing. Now I call back the original person and they get back to me saying nothing was forwarded on. OKay so this GM asks me to send him my resume and I did. He then forwards it to his supervisor keeping in mind he is th eperson I would have to work with and he liked my resume. so he said. He was surprised nobody got back to me and this was on Tuesday of last week told me to give it more time and I should here something by th eend of the week. Nothing. I want to give up and not call again, cause I called so many times, but its so perfect. and closer to my house. Shouls I call or should I just give up and keep looking?

Re: Should I just give up?

Having been on hiring committees, I start to resent applicants who call frequently wanting to be updated on the status of the search. I figure, I have their number, I will call if or when we are ready to make an offer. It doesn't mean you won't get the offer--even if they did offer it to someone else Friday, people turn things down for one reason or other...In the meantime, I would continue the search--hopefully there is something even better out there for you!

also, it really does take places a while to put an offer together sometimes. you are not out of the running yet!
