I want to order my dress a size too small, I'm doing weight watchers now and trying to exercise. If I stick to it losing one size in like six months is not unreasonable, and it really would give me motivation!!! But now I am having second thoughts and I am going tomorrow... What if I loose weight from some areas and not others? My goal is a lot more than 1 size and its only been three Weeks and I lost 5 lbs (with going on vacation and being kinda bad) but I've always had a hard time losing weight! But if I am successful with my goal, how many times can they take a dress in before it looks funny? Sorry its long but I'm kinda freaking out. Please help!!!

IMO...you NEVER order a smaller size. way too risky. You can always have the dress taken in OR if it's early enough and you've lost weight, go back in and be remeasured and they can reorder another size. im not sure if there is a charge for the second option tho. i ordered my dress in October and swore I was gonna lose weight and guess what...it came in 2 weeks ago and i lost nothing!! so im trying to do it now within the next 2 months.
good luck!

No, definitey order the correct size and have them take it in. They can take it in up to 4 sizes.

do NOT do it
actually - any good place wouldn't let you do that. . . and if you DO they will probably make you sign something saying that you are going against their recommendations.
One time a dress size was like EXACTLY my measurements and I wanted to order it - they suggested I get the bigger size but I didnt want to. So I had to sign a waiver that it wasnt their responsibility. . . well, dress came and DIDN'T FIT - i had to go on the special K diet and get a really good girdle!! And I was stressed and uncomfortable about it dont do it!

I do not think this is a good idea. If the dress doesn't fit when it comes in you'll be in a lot of trouble

oh no no!, if you lose the weight you are targeting, you'll just have it taken in...better too big than too small since you can't add material...

yeah but also have to be careful how much you lose bc if its too much of a difference they cant take it in that much, i think anything over 3 sizes smaller will be hard to do.

Keep in mind that your first week's loss is always the biggest, a lot of it is water weight and a total change of diet.
You will *not* loose that much every week.
Order the size that fits you now.

Nooooo - it''s easier to take a dress in than to make it larger.

Most places will not let you do that...

don't do it!!!! I almost did it for a bm dress -- and I did lose 5 lbs, and the original dress size only needed to be taken in a bit -- If I had gone a size smaller, it would have been awful.

My reasoning exactly. Although it might be great motivation, there's always the 'what if' and you don't wanna be stuck trying to get a dress enlarged. It's much easier and safer to get a dress taken in.

You can take the dress in at least two to three sizes .. you can take it out about one size. Think long and hard about your usual weight habbats and honestly for me it was too risky. I drop weight then gain half it back with in six months. Its a battle i have had for life. Now i am back at my heaviest and when i got measured i told her to pick the size that she thinks would fit me with the loss of 5-10lbs Max because i know i can maintain my heavy weight wiht no probs. that is what i have ordered. she told me just don't drop 50 lbs and i am safe and i laughed - that never happens!

I'm actually having wedding dress issues right now myself, but I made the mistake of buying the dress from David's Bridal, and I don't know how much they can take in. Since I bought the dress, I have lost almost 20 pounds, with a lot more to go. BUT, I figure, if I lose as much as I want by say January, I am going to treat myself to a new dress. The dress I bought was only $600, so I will just try to sell it on ebay or something.

not to discourage you but waaaaay to risky. Hopefully you will lose the wieght that you want to but then let them take the dress in at that time.
I joined ww 2 months ago and have not gotten past 10 lbs, i thought I would have lost a lot more by now.

Also remember that you may not loose weight exactly the way you want to.
You could loose 2 sizes in your waist but no sizes in your chest. The dresses aren't really designed for real women, so sometimes you need a larger size to accomodate a curve here or there.
I would get the larger size and then you have one less thing to worry about.

Honestly in my opinion I wouldn't because although it is great motivation to lose weight it may not fit the way you want it to. I actually ordered my dress bigger then the girl wanted to order me. I was so paranoid. I say order the right size and when it comes in and you have to get it taken in you will feel great!!!!!

the place i got my dress ordered mine a size smaller, i was between a 4 and a 6.... but i do think it had mostly to do with the syle of the dress and how i would have swimmed in the 6... Im confident i will get down to that lower size, i really think it depends on the individual and the style... if you doubt yourself, dont do it.... the bigger one can always be taken in
