Ok heres the deal... We got enaged almost ayear ago and booked in January and have told everyone the date. We are having a smaller sized wedding about 120-130. So we are not expecting the typical 20% of no's like everyone says b/c we are not inviting every person we have ever met if you knwo what i'm saying. If you invited its b/c your close. I think if we were gonna do it we should have already and my FH says now e should for the some people, who may make plans and may have forgotten the date( which in this case is only a handful). What do you think?

Re: Should I send Save the dates, this late?
You've got almost 9 months until your wedding...I don't think that it's too late at all! That is absolutely plenty of time for people to mark it down and make travel arrangements.

I don't think it's too late at all. And trust me, people love getting them. I send the magnets out for mine. I didn't send them to everyone, i mainly did out of towners and very close family. Well, some were insulted and I had to send out more, but people really appreciate the thought of you thinking of them enough to give them advance notice to book anything they need to. They are a nice touch. Not necessary, but nice!!!

Re: Should I send Save the dates, this late?
I got engaged in this past may and married next august. I am sending my save the dates in a couple of weeks. I am also having a wedding of about 130 people. I am just doing it because I think it is cute to do. Pretty much everyone knows, but it's something special to me. I am sending them now because I did not want to send them to early. Anywhere from six months to a year I think is okay.

I would do it - for these reasons:
If you have family coming from out of town - you can send hotel info and they will have time to make reservations for airfare, hotel, etc. - if you are blocking rooms many places will release the unblocked rooms 1 month before the wedding.
Also - honestly I know you say these people are close - but we have family who keeps asking us when the date is again since they are planning their vacations and want to make sure not to schedule the same time.
So I would still send them -you might have elderly family who will forget the date etc and make other plans unintentionally.

Re: Should I send Save the dates, this late?
I think its completely up to you. We are not doing Save the dates! most of the people we are inviting we have told by word of mouth and I dont anticipate a problem. If you have out of towners who you want to notify early thats find but honestly I dont think its necessary unless you want to send them out.
here are my thoughts...I voted yes send to everyone b/c you may think that the people closest to you will come...and they may say that right now...but if they plan a vacation (which summer is pretty popular for)...they most likely won't cancel their plans...

I said yes.. You obsess (like me and probably everyone else!) about your wedding while some people may forget the date. I would do it as a precaution so people dont get it mixed up

Re: Should I send Save the dates, this late?
I sent STD's only to a few people, including the entire BP and this past weekend, one of our groomsmen and one of our BMs asked me AGAIN when our wedding was... I wanted to tell them both go home and look at your fridge! That being said, I voted to send them to everyone. 9 months is plenty of time!

Re: Should I send Save the dates, this late?
I sent mine a week ago and we are getting married in May and having about 140 guests.
I was concerned about my out of town guests having a hotel reservation so I sent the info with the STD. Everyone loved them bcz I sent magnets. Necessities.com has magnets.

Re: Should I send Save the dates, this late?
We got engaged in January, had to wait until June to have an e-party so his parents could come, and sent out the STD's in July, which is only 5/6 months away. I don't think it's too late at all.
