So, today is my 'deadline' for my 10% discount on my remaining registry items (yay 6 month anniversary!!). No one got us any of our china, so I'm wondering whether I should just buy all of it now (total for everything is $2800) and save $280. We're going to buy it at some point anyway since I doubt that the 10 no-gifters are going to buy us all our china! What do you think?

Re: Should I spend $2800?
FYI: BedBath&Beyond allows the 20% coupon to be applied to china (regardless of the listed exclusion). Also, they match the bonus Fortunoff may be offering on the same pattern a the time of purchase. . After my bridal shower, we applied all gift money to china and finished it. Fortunoff was having a double bonus (soup & accent plate) and BBB matched it + 20% discounts. . Fortunoff also accepts BBB coupons if it's an item they both sell. I got my Kitchenaid with the 10% completer coupon and a 20% BBB coupon! However, F. complies with the restrictions on the coupon. . Good luck.

you could buy some of it and then ask for the rest for holiday gifts, anniversary gifts, etc.

If you can afford it, I would. Can you get some of it at BBB with the coupons? Also, keep in mind that Fortunoff accepts BBB coupons if they have the same merchandise. Just make sure your coupons are not expired.

Re: Should I spend $2800?
Thanks so much for the advice about BBB - I checked and they don't carry my china though BUT Fortunoff does. So, can I use a BBB 20% coupon at Fortunoff? Thanks again!!
ETA: Nevermind - I just read the post that said it's only for items they both carry

Well, i would probably buy all the place settings and hope that your close family would buy the rest of your stuff during the holidays or your anniversary. I wanted to finish mine out, but both our mothers 'asked' me to keep some stuff on there so they could get us something nice for those occasions.

be careful with that... china gets discontinued pretty quickly.
you should check the manufactures website and see if they list when your pattern will be discontinued.

One of my sisters' did the same thing because Brother-n-laws family really didn't buy off their registry for her shower. Thats what a registry is for people.

Tell me about it - the closest thing I got to 'china' for my shower was a ceramic bowl that one of my friends handpainted. She's a lawyer, not an artist. That's all I'm saying
