Last weekend, my wedding coordinator, who is FH's cousin, said something to FH about 'drama' between the moms. I overheard her and asked what was going on. She said she couldn't tell me because it had to do with my shower, but that there had been some 'friction' between the FMIL and my mom and sister (who is my MOH).
Then I found out that FH has already had to step in twice to tell his mom to back off, that my family is handling things. And when I asked my sister to let me know if things were going okay, she got really quiet.
So my question is, do I now step in and have a little chat with FMIL (thus giving away that FH's cousin and my family have hinted that there is a problem). Or just wait until the shower (which I think is sometime in August) and get the scoop after and address it with her then?? Or not at all??
We normally get along very well and I don't want to ruin things, but I don't want my family to have a bad relationship with her either.
Any advice? Thanks.

Stay far far far away from it. Let your family and others handle it.

Personally, I would let FH deal with it, obviously your shower is supposed to be a secret to you. If things escalate past this point, then I would step in... gently. I say gently because I have already put a huge rift in with my FMIL because I stepped in and backed up FH in a fight and now I will never hear the end of it.
I am not having a shower because I know there would be such a problem.

Definately do not step in! It would just create more of a problem at this point. I don't think I would even say anything after the shower. Why cause more problems with your in-laws if you don't have to. In my opinion, once your wedding is over- you are going to have to deal with your mother-in-law more than your family will have to deal with her- so I would let your family vent to you after the shower as to what a pain in the a#? your mother-in-law was and leave it at that. Good luck!

Stay away from it. - your mom and sister are trying their best to deal w/ the situation on their own for a reason, they don't want YOU to stress !! - everything will come out after the shower i'm sure, - until then, let them handle the situation, i'm sure if they can't, they'll let you know !

I wouldn't touch the issue with a 10 foot pole! These are adults - let them work it out. You have enough stress with wedding planning.

Exactly!! If it's regarding your shower you should have absolutly nothing to do with it! They should be able to work out their differences for one day.
