I'm not sure if we should or not. We love pictures and think that is a great idea, but with all the money the wedding is costing I don't know if it is worth it. What are your opinions on this.

I see that your photographer and videographer are the same company. Why don't you call them and bargain some deal since you are giving them double business?

We only did it because it came free with my photograghy package... But we did buy extra for the in-laws, we are giving it to them at the rehersal dinner

We are doing it because it comes with the package of our photos and video. Ask your photographer if it comes. If not, get dressed up and have someone take pictures of you and FH. You can always take the negatives and enlarge ones that come out nice.

I was also debating whether or not to take the pictures and I decided Why not? My FH and I do not have any really nice pictures of us. I just took them on May 27th so I am anxiously waiting for them to be ready. You can then use the pictures on your save-the-dates, programs, whatever. We might also give a big on to our parents as part of their wedding day present. We are also getting a big one to use as a signing board at the wedding.

I wasn't sure about this either. We ended up doing them this weekend. We had a great time. It made us a lot more comfortable in front of the camera and also with the photographer. Since we're both very shy, I think it will definitely help us for the wedding. Hopefully, they come out good.

just about every photog includes a pre wedding shoot which is basicly your engagement shoot Ask your photog why yous is not included.

some photographers include engagement photos in their package but if not the word 'engagement' boosts up the price just like the word 'wedding', so what we did is just go take professional photos in a package and called it our 'engagement photos'.

Originally we weren't going to bother either, b/c we had such a short engagement. But what Julz says is the exact reason I did our engagement pics .. because FH and I have NO NICE regular pics of us, and while we look forward to our wedding pics I wanted some nice shots of us in 'regular' clothes. I figured we could use the proofs for lots of little things and incorporate them into the wedding also, as well as give our parents a nice photo. I'm really happy in retrospect we did it, because our pics came great (there is another post here!)
