I have heard that you should tell the Bridal salon & Tux place that your wedding is the weekend before just to make sure everything is done ontime. Do you think I should do that? I already told them my real wedding date but I can always say I changed it. Right?

Re: Should you lie about your wedding date?
I have always made my friends tell them the wrong date... I've heard horror stories that some places automatically ASSUME you're lying about the date and gowns came in late because of that... but I've never personally had any problems like that.

You can't lie to the tux place - they are reserving it for you for THAT day. If you give them the wrong date you definitely won't have one.
At the bridal salon, I told them the real wedding date (9/21) and THEY said ok, we'll put 9/1. With the gown, you are better safe then sorry.

Re: Should you lie about your wedding date?
The bridal salon lied for me. They asked me my wedding date and then said 'okay, your new wedding date is so and so'. I thought that was good of them since they are allowing more time for the dress to come in.

I would, I had problems. I got my dress but it wasn't all done until 2 days before(for mine) and 1 day before for girls & mom.

Re: Should you lie about your wedding date?
Where I got my dress-they told me THEY tell the manufacturer a fake date that is two months earlier than your real date just so they are in the clear no matter what! I was really happy when I heard that!

Re: Should you lie about your wedding date?
I ordered my dress super super early so there was no reason to lie to them at all! My dress is waiting for me and has been already for a few months & has to wait til September!

Re: Should you lie about your wedding date?
The past few weddings I was in we lied when ordering dresses. I'd rather be safe and lie about the date.

Re: Should you lie about your wedding date?
I told the truth and my dress was in 3 1/2 months early. My BMs did too and their dresses came in in 2 1/2 months (which was 4 months early).
