Pretty but..you discuss this with your florist? Hydrangeas are REALLY fragile and make crappy boquets especially in warm weather because they need constant water sources. They wilt and turn brown really easily. My MOH used them and within the hour they started looking like crap. She was really upset but wasn't warned ahead of time.
I imagine ina boutineere there would be greater chance of wilting because they acnt attach a water source. Just a heads up.

we asked the few florists we interviewed about hydrangeas as boutonnières and they all said it wasn't a good idea. They are very fragile and with all the hugs and dancing, they will fall apart.

i agree w/ the other posters, talk to your florist and get their recommendation. they are very fragile, wilt easily..they need a watersource and bouts are so small. maybe you could silk flowers if youre really set on hydrangea bouts.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I will ask the florist again but now that you mention it, I think i remember them saying something about that at our first meeting.

I have seen beautiful silk ons at Micheals that look real. That would be another option. You really couldn't tell the diffrence.

Everyone has said it all - without a water source, they will shrivel up VERYYY quickly. We went with light blue delphinium bouts for this reason.
The other option is to do silk hydrangea bouts with some real greens - no one will know.

our florist didn't mention about them getting droopy so we used a rose and bit of hydrangea. below is dh about 2 1/2 hrs after ceremony. hydrangea is a bit limp. but it is the large holland ones which are big floppy to begin with. they used hydrangea as base for bo-ks and they stood up well.

Dried Hydrangeas don't look too bad if dried properly, if you really set on this idea, check out good quality dried ones. They hold their color amazingly well.
