Just had my first fitting on Monday and the seamstress had recommended a french bustle (under bustle) when it is time to do so. I'm not sure how much I like it but I don't know if I have much of a choice with my dress. It's a mermaid gown with heavy lace on top that kind of becomes sporadic as you move down the dress...by the time you reach the lower portion of the dress it becomes all satin. Durrrr Sorry guys, it's my avatar pic
Show me your bustles please! Especially if you had a mermaid gown or a gown with a satin bottom. Thanks!

I had a french bustle with color coordinated strings and I LOVED it and my DOC's had no issues putting it up.

eta: My gown was obviously mermaid and it was silk satin.
eta again: the seamstress also showed me another more simpler option but that was basically taking pinning the train up in one point. I didn't like how that looked on my dress. The french bustle made it all floofy and like it was part of the dress's design instead of just getting the train out of the way

the dress is steamed and hanging in my bedroom now so this is the only pic i have of my french bustle so far

this is all I can find! I had a regular bustle with 7 points I think. I had a mermaid.
this was during my fitting. the dress was totally wrinkled cuz i threw it in a bag lol
and my second dress had a really simple bustle

My dress is all lace and beading and the train is heavy. My seamstress and i went over many bustle styles, including a french one which i hated, until i found the picture below of someone wearing my dress bustled and we decided to do the same one. Maybe look up your dress and see if you can find any picture of it bustled. My dress is in my album if you want to see how the front looks like:

I had a french bustle but I wish I would have gotten a regular bustle or a thing to put around my wrist...Everyone was stepping on it for whatever reason and it broke anyway..
