I'm no where near that stage of planning, but I've seen really cute things like naming tables after places, people, seasons, etc. and having a picture or typed story to match - all in a frame. Sorry I don't have specifics to show as examples.

These were mine. They're designed by the calligrapher Bernard Maisner and I got them from the Anne Griffin website:

I showed you mine already!!

I'm not sure if you're really getting married in December (sometimes those dates are not right!) but what about taking those large glittery white snowflakes and take whatever your theme color is (like blue or burgundy) and put the table number on it with that color glitter and have it hang from an ornament display holder like this (did this make sense??)
