Shower Advice Needed

Shower Advice Needed

I am having a small, destination wedding of only around 40 people. The plans are starting for a shower for me, and I really need advice...certain people think it is ok to invite people to the shower who are not invited to the wedding (they're not invited to the wedding only because we wanted a small, intimate wedding), like parents' friends (outside of the closest friends). Also, would I have them invite my boss, co-workers, other friends who aren't invited to the wedding?

I say no, they shouldn't invite them, because I don't want to appear greedy at all (although they would all love to come and I don't think they would think that's why they were invited, just for gifts).

What do you girls think?

I agree with you but I am not sure what the proper ettiquete is on that situation, I would feel funny if there were people at the shower that I wasn't inviting to my wedding JMo

I agree with you.... it would make you seem greedy. Sorry!

I agree with you. If they aren't even invited to the wedding it is tacky IMO to invite them to the shower. Sorry.

I agree, I think it's tacky too, but I'm being pressured by several people (FMIL especially, who wants her friends invited since they're not invited to the wedding).

Thanks girls!

I agree with everyone else, I would feel uncomfortable being invited to a shower if not invited to the wedding, not sure on the exact etiquette of showers for destination weddings though
