need to ask for a friend...thanks...
how much would you spend if you had to go to a back yard bridal shower, you never met/talked to the bride, use to know and talk to the groom at work, but the last few years never hung out with him, and barely talk to him through phone and email...

I would not attend a shower that I didn't know the person at all. I think it is tacky to invite people that barely know you just for a gift also.
If I was going I would spend about $40 on the gift though. I would spend $100 on a friend, not someone I don't know.

i know its weird..
she also said the shower invite had no rsvp date, and it was adressed to her and her husband, but didnt say it was a jack and jill shower,
the shower is a week away and nothing is bought off the registry

i think $50 is generous. I agree with $30-50 range.. you can't really get a decent gift for less than that these days... perhaps you can find something on sale, or a gift with a higher 'perceived' value? you never met this girl!
