Shower Anxiety

Idk why but I'm having such anxiety about my shower!!! I know it's either this month or next ( my mother had off in the summer so.it's easier for her) but idk why bit I'm really anxious about it!!
I've heard that people are annoyed about our registry....We only registered for like 25 things bc I have a lot already so we did honeymoon registry. People didn't like that we did a honeymoon registry! Idk.why!! It is OUR WEDDING!l, that's what WE wanted! I think I'm worried about people questioning that at the shower! Idk I hope this goes away!!

Don't let people's opinions get to you! You're exactly right in that it's YOUR WEDDING. Your day. Your shower. Your life together. Everyone else can just f@#k off.

Don't let them get to you and enjoy your shower. You should be excited and happy about it, not worried what people will say. And if they do say something then, brush them off with 'Well, that's what we wanted.'

I mean, I can see not being totally comfortable with a honeymoon registry. I personally wouldn't want to just contribute money to someone's honeymoon fund. At a shower, I would want to give an actual gift.

Its rough, because registries can be iffy enough since its basically us telling people what they should buy for us, so it gets even iffier if its like 'here, just give me money for my vacation' LOL

I agree. A shower is for gifts, so people want to buy you gifts! Also, most honeymoon registries charge a fee, so you're only getting maybe $93 of the $100 that's contributed. I would just want to give you the cash! And then there's nothing for you to open from me at the shower, which I wouldn't necessarily like.

I agree! I did a honeymoon registry in addition to a regular one since my fiancé and I both had our own homes before we met. The honeymoon registry worked out great because it allowed them to print out a certificate to give at the shower (just the same if someone gives a gift card). Plus its not like they are just giving money, they are buying an experience for your honeymoon that you will always remember. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Those that don't like the idea won't get you anything from there and will stick with a regular registry gift. It is your wedding, do what you want!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but as a bride we are stressed enough, why do I have to hear that they don't like what we did. I shouldn't be made to feel bad that we chose to do that. Right?
I registered with a travel agent, so no fee and she will provide something for them to wrap so I will have a gift to open. Which was all implied on my website.

We didn't register for a ton of stuff we have a lot as it is. Oh well it's over and done with so I can't change anything or other opinions! I.just don't rant to be stressed about something that is supposed to be fun and a nice surprise!!

I completely agree with you! And absolutely NO one should be complaining to you about this. It's your choice, and what worked for you. Just playing devils advocate as to why they might have these feelings. You didn't mean any harm toward your guests by having a honeymoon registry, so they should not complain. They have the option to buy off of it or not if they don't like the idea. It's not something you should have to stress over.

Omg :( Don't be anxious about it! Be exicted! this is YOUR time!! We did a honeymoon registry too but I don't think anyone really knew about it cause no one did anything on there.. but we also had a bunch of other registry items.
