I was told my shower will be over the summer....but is still a surprise! I have a very big Italian family with a huge extended family! So I'm always busy! When we invited somewhere I have to check if I'm free normally. Well howodo I know if I'm free now? Idk when my shower is exactly! First I was trying to plan a long weekend in DE.with some friends i had to ask my moh if I could go!! L Now my BM sis is trying to plan my bm bridal shower and I was asked if I was free another weekend......idk what to tell her lol!!

I haven't run into this problem yet with my shower but we had a surprise engagement party, I had a difficult time. FH and I have demanding work schedules and it wasn't easy for people to plan a party. I imagine my shower will be the same. Hope I just don't have to go right after work like I did with my engagement party :/

I would say give your 'schedule' to your FH and tell everyone to check with him. A lot of time the FH is somewhat involved in getting the bride to the place. Or at least all the showers I have been to he has been involved.
Some how my calendar in my phone is linked to FH so he knows what I am doing all the time. Not that I planned for it. I am just stupid when it comes to technology and don't know how to unlink it.

I know being surprised is desirable, but with a busy schedule it may not be ideal. I was constantly traveling and it was best that I knew the date and time of my shower. Everything else was a surprise.

I was very adament about having a bridal shower but my girls don't want to hear it. They know I have been waiting for this day and they want to make it special for me. I wanted it to be a surprise, however my Matron of Honor kinda mentioned having a shower at her house as opposed to my FMIL. No date has been set, but now whenever I go over to my MOH home I am going to be prepared. Lol Or at least try to be. Hahahahaha

My Matron of honor lives in Florida.....she is coming only one time this sunmer to do my shower and bridesmaids dresses.....I'm gonna have a clue when she is here!!! Lol my mother didn't seen to get that!

I had to give in and tell my mom exactly what weekend to have it. Between my work schedule and my mohs schedule and all of my oot friends, I needed to make sure my bach party and my shower were in the same weekend. I'm not upset about knowing the date, because my bridal party is in charge of entertainment at the shower and I'm sure they'll do a good job surprising me!

I feel the same way! My wedding is the end of august and I don't know when my shower is. Everything that comes up I am worried if im gonna make plans on my shower day. It stresses me out....sometimes I wonder if I don't want to be surprised.

Hopefully your BP has already thought all of that through. They should speak to your FH and your job to make sure you'll be available. There may even be 'fake plans' for you that day or even a few different days so you'll be thrown off. We did this planning surprise parties and showers before. We came a day away from telling my mom about her surprise bday party 2 years ago because she wouldn't agree to making 'fake plans' with my brother. Just make sure you let your FH or someone from your BP know of your plans and important events in advance.
