Shower Dilema!!! Long

Shower Dilema!!! Long

My Aunt has been driving me nuts asking me about my shower. I kept telling her that I don't know when it is and I DON'T WANT TO KNOW!! My sister came over my house this week & mentioned how she talk to my aunt. (I'm the only one who calls my aunt) So of course I say she was asking about the shower wasn't she!! My sister said how did you guess? Then she tells me that she hasn't even begun thinking about this. She wouldn't know who to invite & she doen't have the money to make it big & ellabrate! (I don't need big & ellabrate) So I told her fine I will give you the list of people to ask! (Mind you when my friends threw my baby shower they had NO problem getting names & addresses) So, this morning as I lie awake w/ my son asleep on my arm so I can't move. I started thinking of things my sister can do to throw me a shower & not have it be to expensive. WHAT THE HELL!! Why do I have to do this!! It really is bothering me. She is not the only one in my wedding party. There is also my other sister & my niece. Mind you they live in Oregon so they won't be much help. But my other sister would have ideas. I think this all has to do that my sister is divorced & a little bitter! Why I chose her I question every now & then. And my Aunt is dying to ruin this for me as well. I'm tempted to say I don't want a shower!!!

I'm sorry that you are going thru this. But don't let it stop you from wanting a shower. You only get married once. This is supposed to be a fun time!!
As far as making a shower inexpensive, you can do it at someone's house. It doesn't have to be a restaurant. Your sister/bms can each make a plate of food, if they don't want to get it catered. I know I would be more than happy to make a plate(s) of food for a friends shower.

Marcella-That was my thought. but the whole thing in my head is 'Why do I have to tell her that' ??? the way I look at it. If she asked my other sibilings (there are 6 of us) The others who love me would be ok making a dish or 2.

Jenn-As I said my other sister is in Oregon & I'm sure she would send some money if she was asked!

I vented to my best friend who ended up calling John (my FH) and asking where my sister was. It's sad that she has to do this!! I feel bad. I feel even worse because EVERYONE said my best friend should be my MOH! And I should of!! But, Jacka$s me took the family route!!! My best friend isn't even in my wedding party! But that's another issue I will deal with!!

Tracy, sticky situation
I would still have a shower, but if it's going to cause a problem, then just make it small, no biggie, but definitely still have one, you DESERVE it !!!!

As for the best frien, it will probably make her feel good to be included in teh planning.
Is there any other way you could honor her?

Maybe have her do a reading, and definitely get her a BP gift along w/the others.
