my mom did personalized M&Ms.. to save on cost you can stretch them with non-personalized ones.
I've also gotten cookies which were a big hit..
IMO anything edible is a good way to go

My mom and sister picked the heart shaped measuring spoons. The ladies loved it.

i have some ideas that i did for my friends showers that were really cute and reasonable!
1) cookie cutters in cute shapes with a tag that says ' cut out for each other' with the names and date on one side, and on the other side, a recipe for sugar cookies... the cookie cutters were like 50 cents at ACMoore, and i made the tags on my own 2) got mini terracotta flower pots at michaels on sale for about 50 cents each, and a pack of 48 impatiens for like $10- i planted a plant in each pot, with a tag that said ' growing in love' with the names and date.... 3)for my shower, they did cute tea cups from the dollar store, and different flavored tea bags ( orange tea, raspberry tea, etc) and put a few tea bags in each mug. the tag said something like ' the perfect blend' or ' love is brewing' i think...

no theme we were thinking of giving away SPA items mani/pedi stuff like nail polish etc.. but that can add up for 20 + woman.
wanted a Tea party theme but a friend did this 3 months ago....

FH's cousin had personalized emory boards at her shower which were nice (with a little thing of nailpolish but, it was bright pink).
I like the measuring cups too but, she had them at her wedding!
I got the wine toppers at another shower I went to.
Edible is my preference as a guest (my mom and I didn't see eye to eye though when we were deciding so she asked the women from her gym!)

I think my mom picked these up at the Dollar Tree.
My aunts also made those Hershey kisses roses, they were a part of the CPs and then everyoone took one home.
They are only like $19 per pound and they have a variety of containers to choose from to put the confetti in. Each container holds like 1-2 oz of confetti so if you buy like 2 pounds of confetti, you can get 20-30 favors and it will come out to like $2 a favor.

At mine, they did personalized hershey bars. For my cousins in June, I did a box with mini black and white cookies, madeline cookies and 2 lindt truffles, they were a big hit

mine were beautifully made sachets (the ones with pretty things on them-)wow thats a bad description-but they look victorian
And also-CDs were made-our engagment pic was the cover and then all the songs were meaningful in some way-from growing up to the last song being our wedding song!

obviously i dont know what my favors are ::ahem:: since i havent had my shower, lol
but seriously - i know my mom is looking into espresso cups bc i want to give away espresso makers as my wedding favor. . .
so maybe you can tie it in with the wedding favor theme? like both items could be something for the kitchen etc. . . .

this is what my moh made.
idividual wine bottles. she removed the lables and created a lable with a picture of me as a baby.
you can't see it, but at the bottom of the pic it says 'lizbeth's bridal shower' and the date

My stepmother made all different kinds of cookies and tied them with a ribbon w/the date of my shower...they were sooo good!

those were my favors for my e-party
i don't know about my shower yet but i know someone who did coffee favors (a heart shaped scooper with coffee beans ground up) 'the perfect blend' hehe... but i def second wrap with us-- great prices!!!
