A few people have asked me what they are supposed to get me for my shower. Is it tradition to give big registry gifts, or lingere? I've heard both, but I wond(young people give lingere, older people give registry items). Am I right? I'm just curious...

usually its registry items that whats i usually get for the bridal shower gift. and I'm 24. I have seen people give lingerie, but mostly its items off your registry.

Mostly items off your registry, and in my experience, it is the few people that are very close to the bride that give lingerie.

I always thought is was the mothers place to give the lingerie, every one else gets registry stuff

you can have your bridal party decide on a theme... e.g., applicance shower, crystal shower, barware shower, linens shower, or a lingerie shower! Then you can sort of get what you really want. usually the affairs i attend, we usually give registry gifts during the shower and save the lingerie for bachelorette

My MOH and another BM want to get me lingere, but that's cool with me. I haven't bought any since I lost 30 lbs a few years ago.

My mother, sister and close friends/family only bought me lingerie.

for my close friend I got her a place setting for her china and lingerie... for my MOH I will do the same...a mix of both.

OMG if my mom ever gave me lingerie I would need serious therapy! I know all of my family members will give registry gifts and my girlfriends will give me the lingerie.
