shower gift shipped

if someone shipped a gift to your house for your shower from off your registry- and it's not wrapped(towels)...do you send them a 'thank you' now or after the shower? and the person lives out of state and will be attending the shower

Personally, I would send one now. And when the shower comes, send another to thank her for coming.

Again, this is just me & what I would do.

ok so then maybe I should send out a thank you card now...I just want to be sure to do the right thing..

anyone else have thoughts on this?

I would send one now. You never know the person could bring you another gift at your shower. Send one now for the gift you received and then send one after the shower thanking them for coming and again for the loveley gift!!

I prefer to send a thank you out the day i get a gift from someone, or as close to it as possible. If i were to wait i would forget!! I like the idea of sending one now and then sending one and thanking them for coming. Or i guess you can call to thank the person and then send a formal thank you after the shower.

uh oh...my mom took all of my gifts that arrived before the shower and HID THEM until the shower so the surprise wouldn't be ruined.

She brought them to the shower and I opened them there. I hope I didn't do the wrong thing...I am only now sending thank-yous for those gifts. but, technically, I received them at the shower...
