Shower Gifts

Do we have to wait until after the wedding to use your shower gifts?

I haven't had a shower yet, but we started using our E-party gifts and other gifts we were given. But we now have a place. I don't see why not. They were given for you to use, not to store. So why not use them?

We want to wait until we get a house to use most of our stuff - like the bedding, flatware, dishes, pans, towels, etc., but some of the fun stuff like margarita glasses, quesadilla maker, pizza stone, knives, blender, we will start to use as we want.

I brought everything to our house to set up and organize...haven't really used anything yet except the vacuum cleaner!! Hahahah....some of the stuff like all my wishing well stuff---which was all romantic lingerie and candles, we're saving for the honeymoon!!!!

But there's nothing wrong with using anything especially if you need to.....

My shower was yesterday. We used our towels, put up our garbage can, and put all matching things in the bathroom when we got home!!

Nope, as long as you have the place to use them, then use them. I have all of my gifts in my basement, but I did take some things out and started using them....like, my pots and pans, utensils, dishes. We are resoing alot in our house, so there really isn't much room for everything until all of the construction is done. So, I can only use so much, but you should def start using your gifts, that's what they are there for.

I was told by some people that you're supposed to wait or that it's 'bad luck' to use them.

We tried to wait, but had nowhere to put the gifts so they were all sitting in my living room (which was so annoying and messy). Our coffeepot broke, and we started using the new one we received...After that we just gave up and started using everything.

The only thing I'm saving is the lingerie I got...That's all going to be 'broken in' on the HM
