Shower gifts sent before the shower

So my bridal shower is a little over a month away (I picked the date to make life easier for my MOH whose out of town). However, FHs grandma sent the shower gift already. (I peeked to look at it because I thought maybe it was from a friend who wasn't coming.) His grandma is coming to the shower though. Do I call her and thank her now to let her know I received it? Do I have to bring her gifts to the shower and open them there? I was going to send her thank you with the rest of the thank you cards. I'm not sure what to do.

My shower is also about a month away and I've received some gifts in the mail. I am going to record what I receive and who it's from so I can send thank you notes altogether :)

Shower gifts sent before the shower

For my baby shower, I left them at home and when opening gifts, I announced that persons name and said what they gave.
Since you know who it is from though - why not call them and just ask what they want you to do?
