Shower - guest list dilemma

Shower - guest list dilemma

How about a Chinese Buffet? A little informal, but we did one for a friend last year & no one seemed unhappy with it!!

Here's my dilemma - I'd love some input on options for handling this.

In a nutshell - I'm getting pulled into the planning and the guest list is getting out of hand.

Shower - guest list dilemma

Can you ask your MOH to contact your MIL? Sounds like she lives here...it's not fair to you that they are getting you so involved. There should be some attempt at a surprise here...even if you end up having some idea when it might be..the idea of where and the details should be without your input. Perhaps your mother in law can suggest a place or she can even consult with your fiance's SIL and suggest a place?

In a nutshell - I'm getting pulled into the planning and the guest list is getting out of hand.

Shower - guest list dilemma

I had anticipated the same problem-- we have a large guest list (275) and my MOH and one of my BM are getting married right after us--so i did not want the expense to fall on them-- the shower list is at 106-- so I tried to step in but then luckily my godmother stepped in and is throwing my shower-- it settled so many of my concerns because I did not want my bridal party(only 4 of them) to try and pay for something like that
We did chinese for my SIL and it was great--it wasnt buffet it was a regular restaurant but much cheaper than a regular restaurant-- MUCH cheaper

It took me a bit too - here are a few abbreviations that are popular here :o)

Shower - Unfair

I'm sorry to hear they feel that way. Your fiance is entitled to some new goodies as are you, unless your everyday china, towels, kitchen gadgets etc. have lasted 13+ years. My MOH is getting married in January and her mother did have a way of making her feel unentitled but I'm glad her MOH was not of the same mindset. Have you said something to them, or at least to your sister? I bet a lot of people are going to ask them about a shower, thinking they didn't get an invite by accident.

Yeah...if you want to...
