I started a similar discussion last week with little response But I think that the Bridal Shower is for family and friends. The Bacholrette Party is for you and your girls to get wild.

Re: Shower help...
I would invite all the family and friends that are close to you.

Re: Shower help...
What your FH suggested sounds best for your situation. Inviting only those on his side that you're close with.

Re: Shower help...
my policy is i have to be able to recognize everyone at my shower! so only relatives of his that i have met on more than one occasion, really. i dont think its necessary to invite sisters/moms of gm unless you know them personally as friends. don't think of it as asking for gifts, these people are there to celebrate your upcoming marraige, its not all about gifts :) ~lacey

Re: Shower help...
Hi You should invite both of your close family and friends. Remember it is a shower for both of you. For his side definately mom, sisters, and any aunts, if he is close with any of his 1st cousins. Sometimes a shower is a great opportunity to meet his family.

Re: Shower help...
My shower is pretty small. It includes all BM, moms, his grandmother, aunts and cousins, his groomsmen's wives and a few of my co-workers. I have about 30 people invited. Just remember that the shower should consist of people from both your side and his.
I'm not sure if there is specific etiquette as to who to invite to a shower. (However, they have to be invited to the wedding if they are invited to the shower.) Some people invite all women that are invited to the wedding. I think that's greedy. JMO.

Re: Shower help...
My rule of thumb is that anyone that is invited to the wedding will be invited to the shower.
