Do I invite all the female guests that are invited to the wedding? I narrowed it down to people's whose wives are invited but not inviting the guests of the men who are invited. Like if John's wife is Maria, she is invited but if James is bringing a random guest, I am not inviting her.
How large of a list is acceptable? I have nearly 80 people. Is this nuts? Of course I understand and expect that not ALL the guests will show.
Please help.
Thanks!!

Re: Shower help
I gave my mom a list of almost every female invited to the wedding. I know many are OOT and will not come.

Re: Shower help
My mom had a few over 80 at my shower. It wasn't every female who is invited to the wedding.....only close female family members of mine, coworkers and friends.

Re: Shower help
I was having similar problems. I think we have about 180ish guests invited and I didnt want the shower to be some huge production... just something more intimate and low key.
Anyway, I made up a list and included: - all women in both families, even if they were OOT (except those I havent met bc they are in cali or texas or something) - bridal party (duh), all of my other girlfriends who are invited - the wives of my FH's guests that I have real relationships with, not just the ones I know/see in passing - a few close friends of the family who are more my Mom's friends but have known me forever
It really wasnt easy and I know thats not a good answer, but I wrote out a larger list first and then went back over it thinking ' if I was invited to a shower for this person would I feel weird/awkward? have I met them more than two or three times? have I talked to them outside of just being somewhere with FH?'
I dont know, I'm afraid I'm going to end up confusing you more.
I guess if you can, try to rank the list and put your most important people first, kind of like an A and B list, and depending on the size of the shower people are throwing for you they can cut it off at some point.

You don't have to invite all the women who are guests at your wedding. And you don't necessarily have to invite your FH's friends wives. Usually you invite close friends and family. If you happen to be close with your FHs friends' wives, then you could invite them. But I don't think you're obligated to invite them if you're not close with them.
However, you should invite FH's close family to the shower (even if you don't feel close to all of them).

I agree! Showers are supposed to be more low key and intimate. I had about 30 at mine.
We are also having a couples shower this weekend in Virginia (where we live) The theme is 'stock the bar' haha. So excited!

Re: Shower help
170 invited to wedding, about 55 for the shower. All out of towners were left out, except FH's mom. For male coworkers, I am not inviting their wives/girlfriends.
