Shower help

Hi ladies,
My sister is getting married next september and I am the moh. I am trying to start the planning now for her shower next summer. She's in North Carolina which makes things all that much more difficult. But since just about everyone is here my mom and I will be doing the shower here. I plan to fly her up for a weekend for her shower and bachelorette party. I am just looking for some fun ideas on games, gifts, and favors. I plan on making her a towel cake, and that's as far as I've gotten! I know since I'm already married I should be a little more experienced but I'm not! Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! TIA

The favors I would try to center around her theme, colors, etc. Googling comes up with great results. I saw a cute game once where the bride dressed up in an apron with TONS of small kitchen gadgets on it and walked around for a few min, then left the room and ppl had to try and write down as many things she was wearing as they could remember. Also this poem that was read where you got points for what you were wearing or something.. i could look for it.
I like the spa/hotel sleepover for a bach. party...

I loved my shower theme. We did the 'frog prince' b/c the invites had frogs on them. My cousin who is one of my bridesmaids did an AMAZING job, and she didn't have to spend alot of money.

One thing that everyone raved about was the candy bar. I had all different kinds of candy in different shaped glass bowls and huge vases. We did bingo, with these bingo cards that we found online. They already have things written on them which may be a killjoy for some. We did scratch offs. If you got the prince you won a prize. They had all different kinds of cute stuff. If you are interested in them I can get the website from my mother in law. She purchased all of those items.

for my sisters shower we sent out a cute index card that we made pretty with the invitations. We had everyone write down their favorite recipe on the card and bring it the day of the shower, then we put them all together and the bride and groom got a bunch of recipes for their new kitchen. You could also ask for the recipes in advance and bind them in a book and hand them out to everyone as a favor... We also made up bingo cards where the guests would fill in items they think the bride would receive. You got to cross out a box when she opened up the gift on your card. whoever won bingo won a prize.... made the opening of the gifts more fun for everyone too (since that could get quite boring after a while) we also took toilet paper and made teams where you had to dress someone up in a bridal gown. the bride got to pick which dress she liked best.

Im in charge of my sisters shower too. We are doing a beach theme since she loves the beach. I did DIY CP's with sand, shells, beach grass and sea glass. I also made DIY invitations that look like flip flops, pics of both are in my album. We got some grass skirts to decorate the table, and a big giant inflatable palm tree cooler as the wishing well. I'm making some drink menus on flip flop paper, and making some beachy looking distressed signs on wood that say things like 'margaritaville' to put around the room. Not sure what we are doing for games since I absolutely hate them, but as prizes for the games we are giving out mini booze and mini drink mixes. For favors, we got miniature pails and are going to fill them with some kind of candy. HTH!
