shower ideas

Hey girls, I went to a shower a few weeks ago and I thought they had some good ideas...

The bm's gave out envelopes so all the guests could write their return addresses on it for the bride to send her thank you's

and they passed around an address book so all the guests could get their names in there for the bride & groom.

Anyone got any more? My shower is coming up!!

I love the address book idea -

For my shower my moh gave me my thank you notes all addressed for me it was a big big help. I personally am not a fan of having the guests write out there own envelopes.

A few showers i went to had the autograph mat which i loved its such a cute idea. I have such a big guest list that im acutally goin to make my own using Foam Board from AC Moore ...put a pic of us in the middle and they sign around it.

my MOH did the envelope thing - it worked out great!

Everyone filled out the envelope with their return address. She put all the envelopes in a basket and at different intervals picked a name out of the basket. Which ever name was picked won a prize - it was like a shower game, but not. This was compromise because I didn't want any games.

Re: shower ideas

for my sister's shower i made up two sets of labels with the guest's name on it so that her BMs and i could put them on boxes as she opened them- so that someone wouldn't have to frantically write down the name of guest plus what they bought.

we also did a photo montage dvd which we showed at the shower.

That is brilliant! Good thinking! I'm also not a big fan of having guests pre-print their thank yous. I think it's tacky, personally. But having the BP have them addressed for you ahead of time is nice!

wow i love the clear sticker idea...it's awesome!!!

i also love the address book idea....a friend also had the address book passed out at the engagement party which was great....i think its an awesome way to have addresses collected in one spot (i just always think if this is done for me im so anal about all the handwriting and pens matching that it might drive me crazy and i'll have to re-write it)

I also think having the bridal party pre-address thank yous is cute

as far as things we've done....we threw a shower and the split everyone into groups and give em a roll of toilet paper to make a wedding dress is always a hit!!!!

my aunt also gave out scratch off tickets as the prize instead of lil frames and candles (sometimes you have enough frames and candles)

one party the centerpeices were little flower potted plants and then they split up to be the favor for each person at the table....

im sure theres more where these came from

Re: shower ideas

hmm... well, i had a small shower at my aunts house, so these might not work if its a bigger shower but......

lets see... f one of my BMs is really into video, so she got together with DH before my shower, and asked him a bunch of questions about me, our relationship, etc and videotaped his answers.... at the shower, she would ask me the question, i answered, and then she would play his answer on the video... it was TOO CUTE to see his face while he was trying to remember different things!
ALSO- instead of a 'game', my sister made ' poppers' . basically, she got a bunch of funny joke, quotes, etc about love, marriage. she typed them up on peices of paper and wrapped them up. each guest got one before i started opening presents. when i opened that guests present, they had to open their popper and read the joke/quote... i gues you have to be there to see it done, but it was a REALLY great way to keep people laughing and involoved while i was opening presents!
