So yesterday I posted about a friend that I have and was wondering whether I should invite her to my wedding. Basically I met her through a few of my friends, we talk on email all the time and have seen each other a few times at parties. I feel like I have really gotten to know her since we email so much and are planning on getting together asap. I decided that I am going to invite her to my wedding. My last question (I promise lol) is should I invite her to my shower? She got married last year and I wasnt invited since we had just met a few months before that, although she did tell my friend that I was more than welcome to go to her bachelorette (it was just at a restaurant with a few girlfriends). I didnt wind up going since I didnt know her that well then. But anyway- she is the only one that I'm kinda torn on inviting to my shower or not. My mom wants my invte list w/in the next few weeks. I am planning on inviting her to my bday party which is coming up and also a dessert party that I am hosting at my apt. So I dont know what to do!!! I obviously dont consider her a best friend by any means BUT we talk all the time on email and know that we are going to hanging out more soon. What would you do?? Thanks in advance.

Re: Shower invite question?
I would if you're having a big shower. I know my shower will probably be every woman invited to the wedding.
But if you're having a smaller shower, i.e. just family and bridal party, then no.

i totally agree-i tend to lean more towards the side of at least extending the invitation-then leave it to them to decide whether or not they actually want to come

if you are inviting her to your wedding, i think its only fair to invite her to the shower. she always can just say no.

Re: Shower invite question?
I have a similar situation and I think I would invite her. I mean I feel like it would be weird if you speak to someone so much over email and not invite her. I would think the shower would come up and then you have to tell her how it was. I mean she can always say no.

I'd say invite her. Especially if she is the only one that you're torn about, if you want her there, you should ask her to come. It certainly sounds like you two are becomming better friends.

Re: Shower invite question?
I don't even know proper etiquette when it comes to inviting ladies to the shower. I am embarassed to invite people i'm not very close with (aka respect invtes) because i dont want them to think i am only looking for a gift.... i'll leave it to mom and FMIL...........

Re: Shower invite question?
it is the norm that if it a woman and she is invited to the wedding you invite her to the shower but obviously if it is someone you don't know you don't invite them
