is it appropriate to invite family members to a shower when you are 100% sure they wouldn’t come because of distance (my future in laws are all in cali). thanks!

i think you should still invite them... let them decide if they would come or not... I wasn't invited to my uncle's wife's shower in FL and I was a Bridesmaid!!! I felt kinda hurt... maybe I would have flown down there for a weekend...(I really probably wouldn't have gone, but it is still nice to know you were thought of!)

definately invite them... maybe they really want to come... but let them make the decision. I feel like in cases like this, your thoughtfulness may be misinterpreted as them not being wanted. jmo

thanks everyone. I figured that sending invitations was the right thing to do...i just didn’t want them to interpret it as 'i know you cant come but send me gifts anyway!!!!'. ha!
