Shower Invites

Hey,

My mom has me doing my own shower invites, (lol don't ask, she is lazy) anyways, I'm not sure if I should invite a bunch of FH's aunts that live out of country just as a courtesy. They will be coming to the wedding, but I figure they might want to send something since they won't fly in for the shower. FH's mom says she's not sure what the proper thing to do is.... any advice?

I personally wouldn't send a shower invite to people out of the country. It may look like you are looking for a gift even though you aren't. Its invitation and you know they won't be able to attend so I would just leave it at that.

if they lived close by would you invite them? If so, then send them an invitation.

I wouldn't invite someone just so they could send a gift.

Oh its not just for a gift. They are FH's sister and they are really close, they just live out of country, some of them used to live close but now they don't. I just thought they'd appreciate the invite and the gift part is just getting the registry info. FH's mom just wants to send them an 'email' instead - I thought that is silly.

i would send one..sometimes i think people just want to know u r thinking ofthem and that u wish u could be there...i mean if they were going to give a gift for the shower i think they would have sent one regardless if they got an invite..another country is a long way to send a gift
