So I still have just over 3.5 months until the big day. I was thinking last week about the list I gave my MOH for the shower and how I'd like to get rid of a bunch of people, because there were way too many people on it and I didn't want so many people. Since I don't know anything about my shower, I don't know when it is and thus had no idea whether the invites had gone out. So when I asked FH, he told me they had not, but also that our moms and my MOH did some 'light paring down' of the list so not to worry.
Initially I felt relieved, but now I'm thinking ... OMG, why have these invites not gone out yet??? WHEN THE EFF IS MY SHOWER? I had assumed it would be end of August (my MOH made what I thought was a veiled reference to that date), but that can't be if the invites haven't even gone out yet!
Do you think I should be worried at all? I hate letting go of control for anything wedding-related, and now I am starting to get nervous. I also did a quick registry stalk, and while there are FINALLY a few things missing ... they are very expensive things that only a mother would purchase. So I don't know. I am starting to feel a bit nervous. I feel like my shower is going to be way too close to the wedding (and one of my BM's weddings, which is 20 days before mine).
Reassure me please???

I dont think you should be worried. My invites just went out like 3 weeks ago for my shower which is July 25th (yes I found out all the info accidentally )

I hope not, because I was telling him I wanted to not invite a bunch of people on the list I gave my MOH, and I just needed to know whether the invites had gone out yet or not ... so he told me they hadn't. I can't see him trying to throw me off that way.

Aw, I'm sorry you found out and that they waited so long! I guess I am just concerned because SO many people on here getting married around my time have had or are having showers so soon and I'm just thinking ... I don't know! I don't know what I'm thinking! Blah.

if u think its the end of august then im sure they r going ot this month..maybe in ike 2 weeks..usually like a month montha nd a half b4 i think they go out

I dont think they waited too long at all. They sent out the invites 6 weeks ahead of my shower.. that is plenty of time. You dont have to send out shower invites so far in advance. Also you have plenty of time. Your shower could be in August or September somtime..you have plenty of time! Dont worry.. let them worry about it you have enough of worrying to do with other wedding crap

I think that is plenty of time.. as long as invites go out by mid July. Definitly not too close to your wedding either.

My shower is July 25 too My invites also went out about 3-4 weeks ago. ( I'm not supposed to know )

I think if invites go out in a few weeks, that's fine! Too early isn't good either, because then people wait till the last day because they think they have the luxury to do so

My good friend and BM is getting married on October 3, so I just wanted to be sure absolutely sure that none of my stuff was close to hers ... that's why I just feel a little bit nervous!

My cousin is getting married the exact same day as you (MY BIRTHDAY!) Her shower is on August 23rd. We haven't gotten the invites for it yet though. So exact same situation. No worries!

Did you're wedding invites go out yet? My wedding is about 3 weeks ahead of yours and my Mom eluded to the fact that my shower was going to be around the end of August, but I know the invites have not gone out yet (they were ordered about 2 weeks ago and have not arrived yet). Usually they only go out 3-4 weeks ahead so I'm really not worried about it at all.
