Shower list

Just curious... my mom just asked me to make a list of girls for my shower

how many people are usually invited ????
it is like a second wedding with all girls before the 1st wedding
having a big wedding doesnt sound liek the best idea anymore.....
do you invite all the females?

Usually you invite family and close friends. You do not usually invite all of the women coming to the wedding. Good Luck!

Most peopl don't invite all the women invited to the wedding unless maybe you are having a small wedding. I think its just your friends and family member.

Be careful on this though, my mom ripped me a new one last night for my list

We just did this last night- my mom and I..

I am going to invite all young women- meanign all the females from mine and FH's list- with the exception if some of his freinds whi I don;t really know..

Then, my mom, FMIL and Dad's girlfriend will invite some people.

We are thinking 60 people..

We are inviting 265 to the wedding..

I made the list, it had 45 people on it, my mom thought it was kind of a lot. She wasn't the one doing the invites, my FH and MIL did them, bu my mom is hosting the party. So I forgot a few of FH's family members so they were added on without my mom knowing, so the list is up to 51, my mom called me last night and basically yelling at me that I had no right to add people, bla bla bla, its partly her fault b/c she didn't look at the list before the invites went out. She went on to say how much she is doing for us andhow she is bustinig her a$$ to give me this shower. I told her to cancel it ifs its such a burden and such a problem for her to do it. She made me feel bad and very hurt.

Sorry to intrude on your post, but once I started to vent I couldn't stop...

My Mom invited about 60 people...but we are sure not al will come. This is how we came up withthe list:
I made a list of my friends (about 20 people) and then my Mom & FMIL got together and ivited who they wanted from the family & family friends.

My Mom has been so great...I feel bad because I know how much she is doing and how much $$$ she is spending.

My invite list included the majority of women invited to the wedding (not the 'and guests')
I did not include relatives out of state that aren't very close to me.

I think we invited like 45 and 32 made it to the shower.

My Mom and FMIL invited family, my close friends, and very close friends of my parents and his parents.

That's who was invited to mine also. And we didn't invite any OOT relatives (except my Nana ). In total there were 30 women at the shower.

To get a picture of our numbers- We sent out 95 invites and our guest list is almost 200 . (But that includes children of ALL relatives also.) A lot of our guests are from OOT. We both have a portion of the family on the west coast.

oh I am so sorry this happened.... i guess we just have many friends!!!!!!!! I hope everything works out for you
