Shower Locations?

Ladies, I'm looking for some ideas for a nice location for my friend's bridal shower. It will probably be about 70 people, so we'd obviously like to keep the price reasonable. The bride is artistic, so anything different would be cool too.

She's getting married in September, so when should the shower be held by? At least a month before the wedding?

Oh, and we're looking for Suffolk County places, if possible. TIA!!

Re: Shower Locations?

I would hold the shower at least a month before the wedding, probably 2. How about the Milk and Sugar Cafe in Bayshore?

Thank you!

I just checked out their website, I've never heard of them before. It looks adorable, I'll have to look into it. Have you ever been to an event there?

Any other suggestions?

Re: Shower Locations?

I got married in late September and my shower was in early July.

Right now I can't think of anyplace 'unusual' or 'artsy' to have a shower, but I'll keep thinking about it.

Boy, we're in trouble then! She's getting married in late September too, and her sister was looking at mid-to-late August.

If you have any ideas, even not-so-artsy-ones, let me know. I'm lost here!! Thank you!

They don't have a separate room there but it's closed on Sundays for showers (at least at one time it was. I'm not sure if that policy still stands). And I've been there for dinner and lunch a few times and it's great I can't think of artsy places either...but I know that there's a place that does afternoon teas in St. James..I'm sorry I can't think of the name...there's also the Garden Grille in Smithtown that's really pretty. Maybe Blue Honu in Huntington too? Or what about Gasho in Hauppauge? That's different at least!

I second that! Food is VERY good there......My shower was at Gino's in Islip and it was excellent, but I don't think they can do 70.....

I had my rehearsal at the Babylon Carriage House and it was FANTASTIC! They have a separate room, too. Check that out!

They don't have a seperate room, but I have gone there when it was closed for a private event, so I think they may do that.
It's very cute...and different. It is the cutest little place with pretty good food and great coffee.
