I agree. Usually it's just a bunch of women chatting and talking on their own.....I'd say that's enough noise

Re: shower music??
Some catering halls have piped music that they can just play in the background but if your looking for something specific then I would bring your Ipod and speakers.

I think my FMIL is getting a dj. It depends where you have it. If its in a restaurant I would say your Ipod would do fine, low playing music. I think mine is in a hall and its co ed. She wants everyone to party and have a good time

I don't remember any showers that I've been to that had music either. An ipod would work though.

Re: shower music??
Funny you bring this up!
recently I went to my cousins shower it was real nice and they did the same thing. Brought an ipod with some casual music on it. Well my sister and I were seated right in front of it. No biggie while everyone was chit chatting and eating, as it didn't seem overly loud. Then as she was opening her gifts it was like blasting!!! We asked the host's (her bp) to turn it down some as we couldn't hear ANYTHING. They did.... then one of theor mom's comes over and cranks it up... I said to her polietly we asked it be turned down as we can't hear anything... she turned it down and when my sister and I turned our back she turned it back up.
My advice casual simple music is good. When the gifts start happening turn it off. I know watching people open gifts for 2 hours can be frustrating... but watching someone open gifts for 2 hours and not be able to hear who it is from or what the H3ll is, is 1000000 x's worse!

Re: shower music??
Haven't been to many showers with music, except maybe background music. It's usually mostly just shower games and talking,

Re: shower music??
I wouldn't waste my time making playlists or something. Also, the RH may have access to a radio station that they can play in the room if you want. IMO no one will even hear the music

Re: shower music??
I made a cd for my friends and basically used cocktail hour music.
you can pretty much do whatever u want. Maybe make a playlist with ur friends fav slong tempo songs. (e.x., John Mayer, Jason Mraz)
