So, my sister/ MOH asked me last night, to make her a list of things that I would absolutely want to have at my shower, and things I absolutely don't want. She wants it to be perfect, (I'm very lucky! ) but, she knows that I really want to be surprised... Problem is, on the must have list...the only thing that came to mind...is wine! Is that bad!!??? I already gave her a list of names and addresses, and we've discussed no cheesy games...We talked about me buying an outfit to give her, so she can bring it for me, in the event I show up looking a mess...
Anyone else have any ideas??
what DO I want????

Re: shower 'must haves' ?
I just don't want my guests to be bored (like I usually am at showers... I'm not really a fan, can you tell?!) so I'll probably request a few cheesy games to keep everyone entertained.
Maybe you can request a wishing well with a lingerie theme and instead of everyone wrapping it up and putting it in one of those ugly wishing wells (sorry!) they can hang them on a clothes line to be displayed during the shower.

Re: shower 'must haves' ?
hmmm- you said no cheesy games, but what about the 'tide' poem or the candle poem thing....still too cheesy for ya??
Any ideas on the type of place you want it at? Italian restaurant, bar and grill, backyard, tea party type place?

Another thing I really liked, they did this at my cousin's shower I think... at everyone's seat there is a blank recipe card for everyone to write their favorite recipe down for you to keep.

Or the alphabet withing well thing where everyone gets something with a certain letter. I never saw it but think it could be fun seeing wht people come up with for certain letters.
Kinda cheesy still, I know, but I think thats what showers are all about. You need some sorta entertainment.
What about the salsa dance lessons or hula dance?

Re: shower 'must haves' ?
thanks for the ideas! Honestly, I hate big showers, I'd really prefer it at my mom's house, or something. I really just want it to be like a party...because, usually, showers are BORING! But, I decided that saying it 'Can't ' be at a place, is just as obnoxious as saying it HAS to be at a place...I want them to do whatever's easiest and most budget friendly for whoever plans it... I do like the Tide/cheer/snuggle poem...but, everyone's heard it already, you know?
I guess there really isn't anything...
I told her, as long as there's wine...and chips and salsa...I'll be a happy bride to be!!!

Re: shower 'must haves' ?
My cousin had a Friday night shower at a Chinese food restaurant. It was great. We were all at the bar all night.

Re: shower 'must haves' ?
Yeah, my sister is REALLY excited about all this...which is awesome...since, us being 6 years apart...I wasn't always a very nice big sister We're like the best of friends now, and it's really cool that she's trying so hard! She knows I've been thinking about my wedding, and everything that goes along with it, pretty much since I was about 10...and she really wants everything to be just perfect...

I have always loved the recipe cards.. I have done for 2 of my friends and have requested for mine.. enclosing a blank recipe card in each shower invitation with directions to write out a favorite recipe and bring to the shower to be added to a matching recipe book. Its nice to a have a recipe from everyone to start out your recipe collection!

Instead of an ugly wishing well maybe they can use a laundry basket or garbage can. Something needed for the home.

The only thing that i would put my two cents in is the favors. Everything else i trust in my two sisters and my mom i'm lucky to have people with great taste.. I can't wait to see what they come up with.

I did the alphabet thing for a friend's shower. It was funny what some people brought, but not everyone followed it. You might want to tell people to get things for certain rooms like the kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, dining room. You'd be surprised what people will bring!
