Shower, Nerves and Advice (LONG)

WOW - I had my shower on Saturday and it was wonderful. I knew about it before hand because I had friends flying in from out of town.

It was held at the China Buffet in North Babylon. There were about 50 people. It was a Christmas theme - everyone brought an ornament for our first tree - they were beautiful It was a great shower - everyone said so - but for me it was totally overwhelming!!!

I know how to act when I am a guest at a party, or a host at a party, but I do not know how to act or to enjoy being the center of focus at a party. My stomach killed me - I was so nervous that I really wanted to be anywhere except there!

Now, I am terrified about the wedding. I really want to enjoy the day. I never expected to not enjoy the shower. So plleeeeaasse - I need advice on how to relax, focus and enjoy the day!

I am getting nervous too. But I think I am just going to pretend I am an actress playing a bride and just focus on the task at hand and try to relax and enjoy it. I know it is hard but focus on being with you fh to be. I hope this works for both of us!!! lol

A christmas theme! That was a great idea. Those ornamnets will be something you can apprecaite for years to come. I have a friend getting married next Oct and I already made her shower gift. A basket full of Christmas stuff.

Then again I am a Christmas fanatic.

My aunt just threw us an engagement party and I was afraid that I might be nervous with all of the attention, but I absolutely loved it! The best part was opening the presents and letting people know how much I loved the gifts. Just relax and try to enjoy yourself at the wedding!

i love the ornament thing! what an awesome idea!!!
i too feel the same. I am a nervous wreck just thinking about being the center of attention when my shower comes in a couple of months.
the wedding i am not too concerned about because FH will be right along side me

I feel the same way about the shower. I do not like being the center of attention at all. I'm really nervous to open all of the gifts with everyone watch me.
The wedding will probably be a little easier since you will have your FI right by your side.
