Shower problems...(kinda long..sorry)

Shower problems...(kinda long..sorry)

So here's the situation with my family/bridal party...

My MOH is my 14 year old sister. So obviously Im not expecting her to throw me a shower. One of my cousins is a BM but is only 16 so again...not expecting anything from her. Another BM lives in Arizona and my last BM is a new teacher and does a lot of volunteer work which keeps her extremly busy.

So now most of you are probably like 'Well what about your mom?' Don't get me wrong, she's my mom, I love her but she can be very lazy and procrastinates allll the time. So Im very much afraid that Im not going to get a shower. The rest of my family probably assumes my mom is going to be doing it though because no one really sees her laziness except the people who live with her.

So my question is....how can I keep the idea of a shower fresh in her head without it being obvious? I really kinda wanted to be surpsrised so I dont want to suggest helping out (even though I wouldnt' mind at all), plus I think she would get offended if I did that. Its getting down to the wire and things would really have to be being planned now. I dont know what to do without looking like a spoiled, 'Give me my presents!' bridezilla! Help!

Tell your MOH! She's 14!! Be like, 'sis, if you need help planning my shower b/c, as you're aware, mom's lazy... let me know and I'll get you in touch with my friend.'

You don't have to but your sis will prob approach your mom then...

Yeah but she's an IMMATURE 14. I was thinking of just telling her straight out 'Can you mention to mom about a shower for me and tell me what her response is?' But I feel like that might backfire on me somehow.

im sorry that this is the pickle you are in..

my only suggestion is to not have a SURPRISE shower and to help plan it with your mom.. this way you can be on top of her planning it

But how would I even go about suggesting that?

Hmmmmmmm - maybe say something like - I was thinking of such and such a theme for my shower - or I found the cutest favors for my shower - or here's a guest list for the shower, I figured you didn't have some of my friend's addresses...

My mom's lazy too! My poor FMIL is buying her dress first!

i would just say to your mom that you know that your sister and cousin are too young to be able to plan the shower and that its can be a big task for one person to do alone and that you would love to plan your shower with her

suggest you make a list of places to look at and go together to check them out

Thats good! It doesnt even have to be anything expensive or fancy. I was even thinking possibly my grandma's house b/c she would have the space for it.

Thanks girls for all of your suggestions!
