My mother is planning my bridal shower and she asked me for a list of people I want to attend. Here's the deal, I'm inviting a bunch of girls from my office to the wedding but in my office we always throw a office shower for anyone who's getting married. Do I invite them to my shower or not?? I don't know what to do. I hate to put a burdon on people to buy 2 gifts. help

Re: Shower Question
well at the work shower does everyone chip in for one gift or does everyone get a seperate gift? I understand that you don't want to ask them for 2 gifts but if everyone at work just chips in than I would also invite them to your actually shower since they are coming to your wedding. I think I would even invite them even if they get seperate gifts now that I think about it

Re: Shower Question
Thanks. Some chip in some do there own gift. We actually do the shower in someone's house not in the actually office. So that's why I'm a little confused

Re: Shower Question
I thought about the same thing. I will just invite the girls I am most close with to my non-work shower.

Re: Shower Question
You should invite whomever you want to. I wouldn’t base it on the assumption that they will have a work shower for you.

Re: Shower Question
If they throw a shower at work, then I wouldn't invite them to the other one....2 reasons....the 2 gift thing that you mentioned, but also to keep the shower you mom is throwing for you more personal... sometimes when you mix crowds it gets wierd, and people only talk to people they know....JMO.....

Re: Shower Question
I gave my SIL my list, it did not include anyone from work. I wanted to keep the shower intimate, family and close friends.

Re: Shower Question
i know the girls from work will throw a shower- but some of them will be invited to wedding and are my friends- so i will invite them to my real shower-

Re: Shower Question
My workplace also has a shower for people getting married..but I am also going to invite the 2 or 3 people in the office that I am close to.
I hope it won't seem like I'm fishing for more gifts....I simply want them to be there and don't think that it is fair to exclude them just because I work with them. I would hope that they would want to be there too!

Re: Shower Question
I am having the same dilema and I work in a very small office of six women. I feel like I am not so so close with any of them, but it may be weird if I don't invite all of them. Supposedly, they do a 'work' shower - but I feel like if they are invited to my 'non work' one, maybe then the 'work' one will be much more low key. Ahhhhhh
